Love for Our Elders
Love for Our Elders is an organization whose mission is to fight loneliness amongst the nation’s elders with love. Damien Key Clubbers were offered the chance to write letters and cards of love for these elders. They were able to create cards that talked about themselves, shared jokes or riddles, and remembered to let the elders know how they were loved. Everyone deserves a mailbox full of love letters, so our members are appreciative that we were able to help make that come true for many elders. Love Letters for Literacy
Damien Memorial Key Club has been working with Love Letters for Literacy, an organization that supports early literacy for kids under the age of five, for several years. Members have created flashcards that will help kids learn the alphabet during the month of May. These flashcards could be written in either Spanish or English and were constructed using a cut-up printer, construction paper, notebook paper, coloring supplies, and Ziploc bags. Members have the chance to showcase their artistic and creative abilities with each set of alphabet cards.
